The overall improvement in quality of life was over 15% in the S. boulardii group compared to 7% in the placebo group.

Saccharomyces boulardii has been found to stimulate the production of secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) in animal models [5] and humans [6], an important component of the immune system that helps protect the body against pathogens.
